Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
-
Do you offer in-person and online sessions?
Yes. Services are available in-office for those who value face-to-face connection, and online for clients seeking the comfort and convenience of care wherever they are. Both formats provide the same discreet, personalized support.
-
What is the difference between psychotherapy and life coaching?
Psychotherapy is clinically informed and designed to address emotional, psychological, or behavioral concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and relationship difficulties. It is often covered by insurance and focuses on both healing and growth.
Life coaching, in contrast, is future-focused and designed to help you clarify goals, optimize performance, and live with greater purpose. It is not clinical treatment but a bespoke partnership for transformation. -
What insurance do you accept?
We currently accept BCBS, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, and Aetna for psychotherapy services. Life coaching and premium concierge services are private pay, offered as exclusive packages tailored to your needs.
-
How do I schedule an appointment?
You can register and schedule through our secure client portal. New clients complete a brief intake process before booking, while established clients can manage appointments directly. VIP and subscription-based services also include priority scheduling.
-
Are sessions confidential?
Absolutely. Confidentiality is at the heart of our work. Therapy services are HIPAA-compliant, with exceptions only as required by law. Coaching services, while not regulated by HIPAA, are held to the same standard of privacy and discretion.
-
What can I expect in my first session?
The first session is an intentional space to begin your journey. For psychotherapy, we complete an intake assessment to better understand your history and current needs. For coaching, we focus on aspirations, challenges, and defining success in alignment with your vision.
-
How often should I attend sessions?
This depends on your goals. Many clients begin with weekly sessions to build momentum, while others may shift to biweekly or monthly as progress is made. Life coaching clients may choose flexible or customized schedules, including VIP on-call care.
-
How do I know if therapy or coaching is right for me?
If you are struggling with emotional distress, mental health concerns, or unresolved experiences, psychotherapy may be best. If you are seeking clarity, focus, and momentum toward your goals, life coaching may be the right fit. Some clients choose to engage in both at different stages of their journey.
-
Do you offer specialized or premium services?
Yes. In addition to traditional therapy and coaching, Orchid Key offers relationship-focused therapy, VIP life coaching packages, and a luxury-tier on-call subscription for discerning clients who value immediacy, discretion, and expanded access to care. These services are designed for those seeking more than therapy—they seek transformation, balance, and real-time support.
